One of the greatest acts of freedom is allowing others to walk their own path.

This can feel like a paradox - because when we allow them, we are actually allowing ourselves. Free them. Free yourself.

When we cling to how we think another’s journey should unfold, when we project what we hope they’ll choose, or when we silently expect them to fulfill a role in our story, to affirm our truth - it becomes a subtle binding of their free will. And in turn, we bind our own. Sometimes the subtlest and tiniest shifts in perception, allow us to open doors and take the biggest leaps of freedom.

Take a moment to reflect on this in a relationship at the forefront of your mind:

• How do I see this person—and how do I perceive myself in relation to them?

• Am I defining my worth or role through their presence in my life?

• In what ways am I trying to steer or control another’s path, consciously or unconsciously?

The truth is, each soul is here to walk the path of destiny written uniquely for them. And while our journeys weave together, to support, elevate and expand each other, no one else can decide your destiny… nor can you decide theirs.

If I value my free will, I must also honour yours. If you value your sovereignty, you must also respect the sovereignty of those who walk beside you - whether they walk for a short while or for a lifetime.

This isn't indifference. It’s reverence. Reverence for the mystery of another soul’s becoming. Reverence for our own becoming. Reverence for the ways we meet, teach, reflect, and even separate - all in service of the larger weaving of destiny.

Going deeper into the freeing, ask yourself:

• What part of myself feels smaller when I hold on too tightly?

• Where do I project onto others the version of them I need, instead of allowing them to be who they truly are?

When we project onto others who we think they should be, or who they should remain for us, it often reveals our own desire to feel secure in an identity that includes them. But liberation comes when we release the grip.

To let someone walk their own way without blame, manipulation, or expectation - is to step more deeply into your own.

Detach through considering this:

• What would it feel like to release them to their own destiny, without fear or blame?

• Where in my life can I practice reverence for another’s choices—without attachment to outcome?

That is the essence of Freedom.
That is the essence of Love.

And when you rest into that truth, you begin to remember - your destiny is not fragile, it is inevitable.
You are held by something far greater than the choices of those around you. 

Every need of your soul can be met.
Every desire of your heart can be explored.
Every horizon that calls you higher can be touched.

Open to your power and Imagine:

• If I trusted that my destiny is inevitable, how would I live differently today?

• What deeper desires and greater heights could I explore if I no longer tied my path, my belief to theirs?

When you release the reins on another, you free your hands to hold your own life more fully. You open space for Spirit to surprise you with greater possibilities than you could have imagined. You discover that no matter who, what, where or when, others choose to walk beside you or go their own way, that you can trust yourself, your path, and your destiny - because you are trusting you.

So trust yourself, beloved. Trust your path. Trust that the people meant to walk beside you will find their place at your side, and those who must walk away will leave you with gifts, whether it is an immediate knowing or ones that you’ll only understand later.

Your destiny is waiting—and it is far more magnificent than you fear, and far more abundant than you dare to dream.
