Im honouring my natural rhythm today for our freedom seed. Are you?
How are you feeling today? Full of gratitude from today and excitement for tomorrow? Or maybe you're feeling tired and exhausted? Emotionally spent? Feeling like you need a three day siesta to recoup your mind, body and spirit. What's your inner rhythm telling you - More importantly - Are you listening to it?
In a world that asks us to do more, be more, have more, and keep pushing, we often forget that the most powerful thing we can do is honour the energy within us and start listening to our own rhythm.
Today, I needed a reminder to follow my own rhythm. I remembered that when I tuned into my rhythm and I listened to my own inner compass and needs, that life just flows much easier!
We are not meant to live by anyone else’s rhythm. Particularly if that rhythm is in opposition of our own. Your energy is sacred. It’s fluid, like the ocean’s tides, rising and falling, urging you to flow in harmony with your own unique cycle. When you tune into this sacred flow, life feels less like an exhausting race and more like a flowing dance.
Thats the beauty of energy. It doesn’t have to be forced. In fact, the essence of energy is that it moves in waves. The natural rhythms of energy reminds me of the well known ancient teachings of the three gunas —sattva, rajas, and tamas—the qualities that can guide us toward understanding and balancing our own energetic states and fine tune our inner compass.
Although there are many ways we can perceive these three gunas, I am always shown how the three qualities move together weaving into each other, supporting each other, as if they are the whole quality, the whole ocean, moving as one. It's much like the idea of the holy trinity, the subconscious, conscious and super conscious.
Each of these gunas appear as different states of being or qualities, yet all together they are the natural rhythms where one flows into the next. They are not separate, independent forces but rather interconnected energies that move through us, supporting and replenishing one another. For example, when we honour tamas, we create the space to rest and recharge. This rest allows us to replenish our vitality and creativity. Without healthy rest and rejuvenation of our mind, body and emotions, tamas, we can burn out, leaving us feeling uninspired and lacking in the drive to take action—our rajas becomes stagnant.
But when we honour the quality of tamas, we replenish the energy needed for creative and purposeful action. This nourishment of rest or play, then supports our rajas, making it easier to tap into that spark of motivation and desire to create. Rest and activity flow naturally into each other—tamas fuels rajas, and rajas then ignites the lightness, contentment and clarity of sattva.
While there are many ways to interpret the three gunas—sattva, rajas, and tamas—we can relate them to the natural rhythms of creation, preservation, and destruction. Just as we cycle through phases of birth, growth, and release, these qualities move in a continuous dance of creation, preservation, and destruction within us. Rajas is the creative energy that sparks new ideas and births new projects, sattva is the preservation of life, harmony, and balance that allows our creations to flourish, and tamas is the energy of destruction or dissolution—making space for renewal, resting and releasing what no longer serves us, and grounding us for the next cycle of creation.
The magic lies in learning when to honour each quality and state, knowing that each is sacred, and that each is part of the divine rhythm of our life. When we tune into our inner rhythm, we discover that the learning, is actually listening! Listening to our inner compass and natural energy and rhythm.
Here’s a few ways to start Honouring Your Energy and Natural Rhythm:
1. Tune into the Whisper of Your Body
Your body speaks to you constantly. Every wave of exhaustion, every burst of creative energy is a message. Your body is telling you when it’s time to rest and when it’s time to move. Start listening to these cues—when you feel drained, honour that by giving yourself permission to rest. When you feel alive and inspired, honour that by letting the energy flow. Your energy is sacred, and it’s telling you exactly what it needs.
2. Build Sacred Moments of Rest
Rest is not a luxury—it is essential. It’s not something you have to earn after being “productive.” Rest is a sacred practice. It’s how you reconnect with your essence, how you refill your cup. Make space for it daily. Whether it’s five minutes of deep breathing, a quiet walk, or a cozy nap, rest in all its forms is part of the divine rhythm of your life. Honour that time.
3. Let Go of the Need to Keep Up
The world moves at its own pace, but your energy has its own rhythm. There will be days when you feel the pull to slow down, and days when you feel the surge to act. Both are sacred. You don’t need to match anyone else’s pace. Your soul knows exactly when it’s time to take action and when it’s time to rest. Trust that. Honour your energy by allowing it to guide you.
4. Protect Your Sacred Space
The energy around you matters. People, environments, situations—they all affect your energy. Surround yourself with what nourishes your soul. Be mindful of where and with whom you spend your time. If something or someone drains your energy, step away. You deserve to be in spaces that uplift and support your flow. Guard your sacred space and give yourself permission to let go of anything that doesn’t serve you.
5. Guard Your Time, It is Your Power
Your time is precious. It’s one of your greatest gifts, and how you choose to spend it is sacred. Ask yourself if your spending time on something that is worthy of the beauty of your heart, or if it aligns with your soul’s purpose. Set boundaries, say no when you need to, and make time for what nourishes your energy. When you protect your time and spend it in alignment with your energy, your dreams, and what brings you purpose and joy- you create space for magic to happen.
6. Take the Inspired Action
Inspiration is powerful when it is fueled by your divine mind and your passionate heart. Go with it. Use the amplified and light energy to push you into your light. Don't doubt. Don't hesitate. Use the energy of action when it is propelling you. Direct it into your visions, goals and the path of your desired future and highest timeline!
7. Trust the Flow of Life
You don’t always need to force things. When you trust the natural flow of your energy, everything will unfold as it’s meant to. Whether you’re in a phase of rest or a phase of action, trust that it’s all part of the bigger picture. Your energy knows where to take you. Surrender to it, and let life unfold with grace.
So, my friends, did you need to hear this today too?
Trust your rhythm. Honour your natural flow. Whether you’re in a season of rest or a season of growth, each part of your energy is divine. By listening to your soul's rhythm, you’ll discover that you make swifter progress, move with greater ease, create from your highest self, and live a life that feels true and fulfilling for you.
Remember, your energy is sacred, and when you honour it, everything else falls into place. That's why the magic is always prevalent in the flow.
Much love,
Erin -xo
